Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns speedster Thapelo Morena admits he would love the chance to play as an out-and-out winger.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic man showed off his explosive pace and the threat he brings to an attack when he scored a second half brace in Sundowns' 6-0 hiding of Orlando Pirates last Saturday.
Morena has played in that role before for Celtic on occasion and looked a natural on the weekend, getting involved in some lovely build-up play with the Brazilian forwards.
He had been switched from right-back to right-wing following the introduction of defender Anele Ngcongca midway through the second-half.
"It was good because it's the position I enjoy playing in. The moment I went from right-back to right wing, I hit the bar and scored two goals.
"This is something I have been waiting for. I would like to see myself scoring more," the 23-year-old was quoted saying by the SowetanLIVE.
Morena would have to compete with the likes of Anthony Laffor, Themba Zwane and even Percy Tau and Khama Billiat for a permanent attacking role.
Sundowns are next in action when they meet with Chippa United at the Siza Dukashe Stadium on Tuesday night.
Kick off is at 19:30.
