Mohomi keen to resume Downs title defence

Cape Town - Lucky Mohomi says that Mamelodi Sundowns have been well-drilled ahead of their clash against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

The Brazilians have some catching-up to do in the Premiership race after focusing their attentions over the past few months on winning the CAF Champions League.

The African champions have only played three league games thus far (one win, one draw and a loss) while most of the other clubs are gearing up for their ninth game of the season.

"This is a big game, and we all have been preparing well for the game. The spirit in the camp is high, and we all know that this will be a high intensity game," Mohomi told KickOff.

"And then there is the matter of pride as well – and the winning mentality that is now ingrained in our side. We also know that the pressure is high, but that is what you expect when you play for a big team like Mamelodi Sundowns.

"We have undoubtedly one of the best coaches, and he knows how to prepare his team for any challenge. It's not going to be easy, but we will do what we have to do."

Masandawana will be wearing their new club crest for the first time against Chiefs after being crowned the champions of Africa and will be looking to now move up on the PSL standings.

Kickoff is at 1530.
