Modise hails 'Downs quartet

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise has praised the outstanding quartet of Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat, Keagan Dolly and Hlompho Kekana.

The attacking trio of Castro, Billiat and Dolly have been in scintillating form, while Kekana has been the key linchpin in midfield for the Brazilians.

As a result, Sundowns are top of the table in the Premiership while also in contention in the Nedbank Cup and CAF Champions League glory.

"We are looking forward to resuming the league. We ended on a good run and want to continue doing so. There are only seven games left to play this season and we have to make sure that we finish strong as a team," Modise said on the club's website.

"Look my team-mates have been displaying great football recently. We have won a lot of games because of all the players in the team.

"Yes Khama, Castro and Dolly have been pivotal in their roles. The likes of Kekana as well, he scored a beautiful goal for Bafana and I think he has a chance of cementing his place in the national team.

"So with all these factors taken into consideration we will do best by going all the way in the league and in other competitions."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
