Cape Town - Cape Town City have received a boost with the news that Teko Modise could be available to play against Bidvest Wits on Friday night.
Modise was a high-profile signing in the off-season after he ended his time with Mamelodi Sundowns to head down to the Cape.
The former Bafana Bafana playmaker was all set to make his debut against Polokwane City in last weekend's MTN8 victory in the Mother City, but had to be replaced by Thabo Nodada in coach Benni McCarthy's starting line-up just minutes before kick off after he hurt his groin in the warm-up.
However, the Cape club announced on Tuesday that the 34-year-old Modise is set to return to training and could perhaps feature against the league champions on Friday night in Johannesburg for what would be a boost to a side already without injured attacking duo Judas Moseamedi and Aubrey Ngoma.
"Teko 'Dona' Modise has recovered enough to do partial training, he's expected to resume full training by tomorrow [Wednesday]!" City stated on Twitter.
