Mnyamane: We are ready for Chippa

Cape Town - New SuperSport United attacker Thabo Mnyamane believes the team is still optimistic about their prospects despite opening their season with back-to-back losses.

Matsatsantsa suffered defeats in their opening games after losing 1-0 in the league to Platinum Stars and losing 3-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 quarter-finals.

The former University of Pretoria striker made substitute appearances in both games, but could do nothing to inspire his team to victory.

"We really need to win this one for our fans. We have lost three points already, but we have put it in the back of our minds," Mnyamane told KickOff.

"Also, we were unlucky after pulling out of the MTN8 Cup in the first round. We have assembled a competitive team and we are not demoralised by the two losses. We went back to the drawing board and everything is on track.

"We have capable players who can do the job on the day despite injuries. We have done our homework and are ready for Chippa."

Matsatsantsa will face Chippa United in the league at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
