Midweek party doesn't stop 'Downs

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns are flying high after a week that provided coach Pitso Mosimane with the best possible Christmas present.

On Wednesday night Mosimane saw his side lift the Telkom Knockout trophy after stunning Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 in Durban, and just four days later Sundowns moved to the top of the PSL log with a 2-0 win at home to Orlando Pirates.

That's two Soweto giants knocked over in a week ... and those two victories came either side of a team party.

"I was worried about the team in the beginning, especially with the weather because it was hot and we came from a game against Kaizer Chiefs and the travelling from Durban," Mosimane told Kickoff.com.

"The boys wanted to party on Wednesday and we had to let them go. Sometimes you need to find a balance, they have achieved. They have done well, you need to reward them and we had to let them go and have a party."

And with no fixtures remaining in 2015, that party looks set to continue a while longer if you are a Sundowns fan.
