Middendorp shocked after alleged attack

Cape Town - Maritzburg United coach Ernst Middendorp admits he has never encountered anything like the alleged attack from Mandla Ncikazi during their 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows.

The pair were involved in a touchline scuffle on Wednesday evening and Middendorp claims he was kicked by Arrows assistant coach Ncikazi.

"It's a clear attack on me. He came out of nowhere and attacked me. You can see, it's on the TV. No one can deny that, it's clear on the TV," the German told Soccer Laduma.

Middendorp admitted he won't take the matter further as he wants the sole focus of the club to be on their relegation battle but he's still shocked by the fact that he did nothing on the night to antagonise his counterpart.

"I have been around for 24 years and have seen many things, but this is something else. People should think about what they do," Middendorp added.

"I won't take this further, and don't want to comment further. We are focused on our game against Free State (Stars) next week, and working towards that."
