Micho wants to conquer Africa with Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has revealed his ultimate goal is to help Bucs win a second CAF Champions League crown.

Pirates became the first South African club to win the Champions League when they beat ASEC Mimosa in 1995.

Last year Mamelodi Sundowns were only the second club from the PSL to lift the prestigious continental club trophy.

Sredojevic, who guided Uganda to a first AFCON finals appearance in over three decades before joining Pirates, has injected fresh impetus into the team this season.

The Serbian's immediate priority is to win games and build positive momentum. Ultimately, he wants to conquer Africa with the Sea Robbers.

"I will tell you what is the bigger picture, or the roof as I call it," Sredojevic was quoted by IOL website.

"When you see the Orlando Pirates badge, there is one star on top of it (for winning the 1995 Champions League). My dream is to bring a second star.

"The bigger picture also includes playing an exciting brand of football that will bring our supporters back to Orlando Stadium to enjoy and be proud of the team that they are supporting.

"All of these to be garnished with positive results because you can talk that you are doing something but results need to follow.

"Positive results are the best possible way to inject yourself with confidence and to fulfill the mission of writing your name in the history book of this great club."

Pirates take on Polokwane City on Saturday night at the Orlando Stadium in a Telkom Knockout quarter-finals.
