Micho predicts better performances from Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic expects his sides performance levels to improve with confidence in 2018.

With the Serbian's second spell at the club now approaching the six-month mark, he has cited a real development of the Buccaneers squad after the 3-1 win over Baroka on Saturday.

Luvuyo Memela was one of the standout performers on their first league outing of 2018, registering two goals and a beautiful assist for Musa Nyatama's third-minute opener.

"We started like a house on fire. First 30 minutes was our best so far this season," Sredojevic told reporters. "We removed their block and scored three goals.

"We then conceded a penalty and we should have concentrated, and the most dangerous result is when you are two goals up, your confidence is still not high.

"Importantly, we used three elements in the second half. First one is possession, second is pushing the opposition far forward and third element is properly close them down.

"I believe we have succeeded seeing so many critical elements in the game. But so far so good, good start to the New Year. With the confidence injected into the players, even better performances will come in ahead of us."

Pirates moved into fifth place in the league with the win as they trail league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by five points.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
