Cape Town - Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic admits that he is delighted with the opportunity to work with a player of Lyle Foster’s potential.
Sport24 reported the 17-year-old striker was promoted by the Buccaneers senior squad after impressing while in the junior ranks.
Sredojevic says the newly promoted youngster has all the hallmarks to become a top class player for the future.
"Bringing Lyle to the senior team is in recognition of the potential and promise he has shown," said the Serbian-born mentor on the club’s official website.
"He is a special talent and one that we need to nurture because of his age. He will be on a specialised support program that will aid in his development and also facilitate his integration into our system."
Foster, who had his 17th birthday less than a week ago, will no doubt be relishing the chance to prove himself to the senior team, but Micho has guarded against this approach.
"We need to make sure that we exclude him from the pressure that comes with being in the senior setup," said the coach.
"We can’t afford to lose him because he is still young so it’s important for us to create an environment where he can play his natural game.
"It’s important for a young player like him to take this all in, enjoy his time and each moment, and express himself freely.
"We will help him to extract that quality that can make him a complete player."
