Mhlongo: It's an emotional game for me

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo has revealed that the Carling Black Label Cup is an emotional match for him.

The pre-season game marks the anniversary of the passing of his father in 2014.

Each year during the time of the beer cup, Mhlongo is reminded of that difficult time in his life.

Pirates will face arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

"This is an anniversary for my father's passing and that's emotional to me. This tournament is close to my heart," Mhlongo told Soccer Laduma.

"Every time I play I would want to win to respect and remember him. Last season I played and we won and I want the same this season."
