Mhlongo geared for emotional final

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo admits that his return to the Peter Mokaba Stadium in the Nedbank Cup final will be emotional.

Mhlongo will return to the ground where he picked up a knee injury, which kept him out of action for six months.

The Buccaneers will face SuperSport United in the cup final in Polokwane on Saturday. Pirates will be looking to end their long season on a high with the title win.

"You know it's obviously so emotional returning to Peter Mokaba Stadium. When they announced the finals venue it hit me but I am over that now," Mhlongo told Soccer Laduma.

"There should be a reason why God wanted my first game at the stadium after the injury to be in this cup final. I am ready both emotionally and physically, and I know my team mates are also ready for the game."

Kick-off is at 15:00.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
