Mhlongo bemoans Polokwane draw

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo believes his team could have done better following the goalless draw against Polokwane City.

Pirates entered the match full of confidence after their recent impressive form which included eliminating Mamelodi Sundowns from the Nedbank Cup.

Mhlongo won the Man-of-the-match award for the second game running in the share of the spoils.

"I'd rather trade this for three points because we let ourselves down, we were a bit sluggish in the first half. We can't come from a great result and then all of a sudden drop points like this," Mhlongo told Soccer Laduma.

"It was supposed to be one of those games, where we push ourselves harder, just to keep climbing the log.

"At the end of the day, congratulations to the guys, even Polokwane, they came here and they got what they wanted, which was a point. So I'll give credit to everyone on the field because we tried our best."

Eric Tinkler's side will next face Platinum Stars in the league on Monday.

Kick-off is at 17:00.
