Mhlongo back, Matlaba out for Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates 'keeper Brighton Mhlongo is set for a return ahead of the Premiership clash against Baroka at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Mhlongo has been suffering with an illness he picked up while in international duty with Bafana Bafana and has not been well enough to play since the national team's last outing against Mozambique in the middle of November.

Jackson Mabokgwane has fill the void for the Sea Robbers in recent matches and has managed two clean sheets in four matches for the Augusto Palacios-coached outfit.

However, with Mhlongo available again it remains to be seen if Mabokgwane will lose his place in the starting line-up to the 25-year-old.

The Mayfair-based club will also be without the suspended Thabo Matlaba who was sent off for a horror challenge on Jeremy Brockie in the 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United.

The defender has since apologised to the striker for his dangerous tackle and the New Zealand international was gracious in accepting his sentiments.

Patrick Phungwayo is expected to fill in for Bucs at left-back.

The action gets underway from 19:30 in Polokwane.
