Mhango to face PSL disciplinary hearing

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits forward Hellings Mhango could face an extended spell on the sidelines as he prepares to appear in front of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) disciplinary committee.

Gabadinho was alleged to have spat at AmaZulu midfielder Michael Morton, who then retaliated at the Malawi international, before receiving a red card during the Students' 3-0 defeat at the King Zwelithini Stadium in September.

According to AmaZulu's General Manager Qedi Dlamini, the Durban-based side wrote an official complaint to the league following the lack of action taken against the forward and have since received a response.

"Yes, we did receive the response from the PSL last week informing us that Mhango will appear before the PSL DC," he told Isolezwe.

IOL reported on Monday that the PSL acting CEO Mato Madlala was unable to confirm a date for the official hearing.

"It is one of the cases that are pending. We are waiting for the prosecutor to advise us," Madlala told the publication.
