Mhango targets more cup success with Wits

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits striker Gabadinho Mhango is eager to add another trophy to the club's collection as they prepare themselves for the Telkom Knockout competition.

The Clever Boys' last competitive game was the MTN8 final, which saw them claim the coveted title by thrashing Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0.

Mhango knows the victory has increased expectations, but he is determined to live up to them by starting the Telkom Knockout campaign with a win against Free State Stars on Saturday.

"We know that after the MTN8 victory a lot will be expected from us and we have to live up to those expectations," he told Soccer Laduma.

"We want to do well in another cup and win more than just one trophy this season.

"We know it's not easy to do that but with coach Gavin Hunt we know we can do it. He knows how to prepare us for different games, starting with this weekend where we need a win by all means."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
