Menzo downplays speculation on Ajax future

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town head coach Stanley Menzo has played down speculation on his immediate future following the 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United on Wednesday evening.

The Urban Warriors suffered their sixth defeat in 11 games in the Premiership after Aubrey Modiba's 25th-minute header sealed the result.

It's also the sixth time this season the misfiring Cape Town-based side have failed to score in a league fixture, which is a worrying statistic for the side hovering a single place above the drop zone.

"There's always pressure. When you win, there's pressure that you have to win the next game," Menzo told SuperSport TV after the game. "When you lose there's pressure still because you also have to win, so there's always pressure.

"It's normal in sports. I know what it is, so we deal with it. There are certain things I can do and there are certain things I can't do.

"I am focused on the things I can do and the rest we will have to see," the Dutchman added. "We have to deal with this loss because it's not easy to lose."
