Mbesuma sets 20-goal target

Cape Town - Mpumalanga Black Aces striker Collins Mbesuma remains optimistic of reaching his target of 20 goals this season.

The leading goal poacher in the Premiership wants to add to his 14 goals in all competitions during the the run-in to the campaign.

However, Mbesuma has just six league games to reach his target, with only the promise of personal glory remaining for the Zambian as Aces have dropped out of the title race following a string of below-par performances.

"I cannot say much about that target (of 20 goals) being reached because anything can happen in football," he told KickOff.

Mbesuma says that as a striker you cannot give up because at anytime anything is possible.

He adds that his main focus is on the team and that he cannot be completely focused on just upping his goal tally.

"As a striker your job is always to score goals, but you have to understand that this must not mean that it must always be about you."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
