Mbalula pledges to support Sundowns

Cape Town - Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula has wished Mamelodi Sundowns well on their FIFA Club World Cup journey in Japan.

"The Mamelodi Sundowns team has proven beyond doubt that they are forces in the African continent. This is yet another opportunity for them to display to the world that there are strong and equality competent leagues in the African content, particularly in South Africa. At a world stage, they are representing more than their club but the entire nation. I pledge my full support to the team and its coach who continue to make the country proud," Mbalula said.

Mamelodi Sundowns will kick off their campaign on Sunday.

Mbalula further called on all South Africans to support the team.
