Cape Town- Ajax Cape Town attacking midfielder Mark Mayambela said they were all disappointed after giving up the lead on two occasions against fellow PSL strugglers, Free State Stars, on Friday.
The Urban Warriors stumbled to a share of the spoils against Ea Lla Koto in an Absa Premiership clash played at the Athlone stadium.
The “Professor” as he is affectionately known, was on target for Ajax alongside Rodrick Kabwe while Stars scored courtesy of a brace by the inform Mohammed Anas.
The Khayelitsha born winger, however, remained proud of his teammates for their endless effort despite failing to hold on to the lead.
“Of course we are very disappointed as a team. I think it’s a game of football and we have to take it like professionals," Mayambela lamented.
“We must move on from the results. Maybe some people would say that we deserved to get the three points but at the end of the day we didn’t get those three points.
“Well done to Free State Stars, they really gave us a good game. And again well done to my teammates for their efforts as well. But I think we should have won the game.”
The Urban Warriors are still searching for their first win in 2017 and the former Orlando Pirates man stressed that they will continue striving for results as a team.
“Of course it (winless run) is a very key factor but as footballers we understand it happens.”
“We have to soldier on and keep working hard, then the results will come our way. All we need to do now is to strive and work towards the right direction.”
