Matlaba's agent clears up confusion

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Thabo Matlaba was involved in an attempted hijacking, the player’s agent Abel Rasimphi confirmed.

In an attempt to clear all confusion with information that already had been published about the incident, Rasimphi revealed that it was an attempted hijack and that no one was hurt.

"They were trying to hijack his car. Fortunately a police car was passing by and the suspects ran away," Rasimphi said as quoted by KickOff.

"There were no injuries, and the player is fine."

Reports surfaced on Monday that Matlaba was involved in an incident in the early hours of Sunday morning where gunshots were allegedly fired.

Following the crossfire it resulted in one of the victims being hospitalised.

The publication further revealed that Matlaba along with an unidentified male opened a case of attempted murder.
