Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung feels assured that defender Eric 'Tower' Mathoho's future is safe at the club.
The Bafana Bafana international has been an ever-present in the Amakhosi rearguard for the past five seasons since joining from Bloemfontein Celtic.
Mathoho, who has in the past been linked with an overseas move, will see his contract at Naturena expiring in June this year.
Motaung, however, is optimistic that the issue will soon be addressed and seems to feel that the 26-year-old with stay with the Soweto giants.
"I will speak to Mathoho and his agent sometime this week, no pressure. His future [at the club] is safe ," Motaung told Goal.com website.
Meanwhile, Amakhosi are preparing for the return of the Premiership next month as they look to challenge for the league title.
Chiefs face Free State Stars on Tuesday, February 7 at the FNB Stadium.
