Mathoho's Chiefs departure edging closer

Cape Town - Football agent Tim Sukazi has revealed that defender Eric Mathoho could leave Kaizer Chiefs for Europe.

The Bafana Bafana international has made no secret of his ambition to play abroad after spending three seasons with Amakhosi.

With his contract at Naturena winding down, Mathoho can sign as a free agent with any club.

This goes against the announcement made by Chiefs in 2015 that the 26-year-old centre-back had signed a contract extension until June 2017.

"As expected, Chiefs have said they want to engage with Mathoho but we are prioritising Europe now and we said we'll engage," Sukazi told Power FM.

"Mathoho's priority is to go to Europe. There have been inquiries and I went to Monaco to speak to the club when I was there."
