Mathoho wants emphatic Chiefs response

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Eric Mathoho has rallied his team-mates to get a positive result against SuperSport United on Wednesday.

LIVE scoring and interactive commentary on the Absa Premiership clash between Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United.

Pressure is mounting on Amakhosi after a streak of five winless games - with the most recent result a 2-1 loss to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

Matsatsantsa have been in superb form this season with Stuart Baxter's men unbeaten in their last 10 games.

Mathoho also backed the tactics of coach Steve Komphela, who came under-fire for using an unusual formation in their last match against Sundowns.

"Wednesday's game against SuperSport will be very important for us to win as we didn't do well in our previous two games," Mathoho told KickOff.

"We need to work extra hard in order to win this game. The way we played (against Sundowns) is not the way we are used to and I am sure we will bounce back.

"There is obviously nothing wrong with the system because the coach has his own plans. I can't say the formation is right or wrong because the coach is the one who knows why we are playing this way."

Kick off is at 19:30.
