Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Eric Mathoho could be set to leave the club at the end of a season as he eyes a move to Europe.
Into his fourth season at the club, the Bafana Bafana central defender has been a near ever present for Chiefs since joining from Bloemfontein Celtic.
But according to the player's agent, Tim Sukazi, Chiefs will allow him to depart the Soweto giants at the end of the current campaign, should an offer from Europe come in.
"There have always been ongoing enquiries about the player and it is a pity he didn't go at the end of last season," Sukazi told the Sowetan Live website.
"There are teams from Netherlands and Belgium that enquired about him, but I won't name the clubs.
"Chiefs' undertaking that they are willing to let him go is hand-in-hand with our intentions.
"At 25, we believe that he is ready for Europe and he has shown a lot of signs of maturity. He's played very well for both club and country. Mathoho feels ready for Europe now."
Meanwhile, Amakhosi face Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, January 9 as the Absa Premiership returns.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
