Mathoho inspired by Mashamaite

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs centre-back Erick Mathoho says he remains focused on securing a dream move to Europe.

Mathoho has been linked several times over the last couple of years with an overseas move, but instead he remains at Chiefs, while former club-mate Tefu Mashamaite now plies his trade in Sweden with BK Hacken.

Mathoho sees his former central defensive partner as inspiration, and is still hoping to earn his own transfer abroad.

"Yes, it's still my dream to move to Europe," the Bafana Bafana international told Goal website.

"It's good to see my former team-mate and friend Tefu playing in Europe and I would also want to play there one day.

"There were teams which were interested in me over there, but since I was put injured it hindered the progress.

"For now I have to concentrate on my game at Chiefs and if I do well here the chances of moving to Europe are high."
