Masuku: Chippa deal is not finalised

Cape Town - Menzi Masuku believes his move from Orlando Pirates to Chippa United is not finalised, despite both sides confirmed the deal.

The Mayfair-based outfit recently announced that the national Under-23 starlet would be joining Chippa, however the 23-year-old was not one of the new players unveiled at the club's press conference last Wednesday.

Speaking to KickOff, the former Jomo Cosmos man revealed that the deal is not confirmed yet because he is solely focused on the Olympics.

“Nothing is confirmed yet in terms of that [Chippa move], so I'm only focusing on the national team and doing well for the county in Rio," he said.

“It hasn't affected me in any way though. I'm just focusing on the national team for now."

Masuku also expressed his delight at being chosen to represent South Africa at the Olympics in August.

“I'm very happy. Since day one, we fought very hard with the guys and it has always been my dream to play in such tournaments and show the rest of the world who Menzi really is," he concluded.
