Masilela backs Ngele to shine

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns legend Joel Masilela believes midfielder Mogakolodi Ngele can be a game-changer for the club this season.

Ngele has already made a significant impact at the Brazilians after joining the club from Platinum Stars at the beginning of the campaign.

With their Telkom Knockout final against Kaizer Chiefs on the horizon, Masilela has backed the likes of Ngele to lead Sundowns to silverware.

"Rarely has a player been such a good free-kick taker and Ngele is that kind of a player. I think coach Pitso Mosimane is using him well," Masilela told Soccer Laduma.

"He comes on as a substitute and changes the complexion of the game. He doesn't possess the speed of Dolly or Anthony Laffor, but he is a great asset to the team.

"His distribution is good. He can also play as a number 10, something he did when Sundowns beat Free State Stars 6-1 in the Telkom Knockout last eight."

Sundowns face Chiefs in the cup final showdown at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on December 16.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
