Masandawana injury update given

Cape Town - Premiership and African champions Mamelodi Sundowns have provided an update on the status of the club's injured and recovering players.

Keagan Dolly has been a notable absentee of late, but the Brazilians confirmed that the winger would return imminently from a shin problem.

Meanwhile, Khama Billiat is struggling with a groin strain that is going to be assessed before he is able to make a return to action.

In addition, Soumahoro Bangaly, Kennedy Mweene and Siyanda Zwane will also be monitored before the clash with Highlands Park in the league on Sunday.

Masandawana Communications co-ordinator, Thulani Thuswa, confirmed that the players would be looked at before the outing against the Lions of the North.

He told Soccer Laduma: "Dolly is injured. He has a shin splint. We can't say how long he will be out for. He will be training very soon anyway, so he will be reassessed to check the extent of his injury.

"Billiat has a groin injury, he will also be reassessed. Bangaly's groin, Zwane's shoulder and Mweene injured his knee during the warm-up. They will all be reassessed before the game."

Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane recently welcomed back Leonardo Castro to full training as he also battled back from injury.

Masandawana welcome Highlands Park to Loftus Versveld in an Absa Premiership encounter and will be looking to improve on their eighth-placed position on the log.

Kick off is at 15:30.
