Marques: I've had no contact with Maritzburg

Cape Town - Santos coach Zeca Marques denied all reports linking him to the vacant managerial position at Maritzburg United.

"Someone informed me at training the other day and it was definitely the first time I heard the news,” Marques said on the club's website.

"Honestly speaking I have had no contact with them (Maritzburg). This is news to me and I have to say I was rather surprised."

Marques has a contract at Santos that is set to expire at the end of the current NFD season.

"We are so close to achieving something special at the club," the former Moroka Swallows boss said.

"Needless to say that I work with a fantastic chairman in Goolam Allie and I have his full support. Cape Town is a great city and I have no thoughts of leaving the club."
