Maritzburg swoop for Mogapi

Cape Town - Maritzburg United have swooped to snap up the services of defender Tumelo Mogapi following his recent release by Absa Premiership rivals Bloemfontein Celtic.

The 27-year-old's contact was terminated by mutual consent on Wednesday, clearing the way for Maritzburg coach Ernst Middendorp to be reunited with the player.

Maritzburg chairman Farouk Kadodia has now confirmed a deal has been agreed with Mogapi, while Musa Bilankulu is on the verge of joining the Team of Choice.

"Yes, Mogapi has been signed," Kadodia told KickOff.

"Regarding Musa Bilankulu, when we have signed the player we will make an announcement, but we haven't signed Bilankulu as yet."

Mogapi will be hoping to make his debut when Maritzburg take on Mamelodi Sundowns at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday, January 30.
