Cape Town - Former SuperSport United midfielder Dove Wome is reportedly on the radar of KwaZulu-Natal top-flight club, Maritzburg United.
The Togo-born attack-minded former Free State Stars and Mamelodi Sundowns player, who also had a loan spell at Orlando Pirates last season, was released by Matsatsantsa this week after he had struggled for game-time.
Maritzburg, meanwhile, have battled at times this season to turn their superiority into goals, and according to a SoccerLaduma source, they are considering swooping for Wome, although they could face competition.
"There is interest in Dove from different clubs in the PSL. Maritzburg United is one of the clubs interested in him. The player is assessing his options at the moment," said a source.
Maritzburg have a chance to leapfrog Bloemfontein Celtic and move into fourth spot in the standings when they welcome Siwelele to the Harry Gwala Stadium in an Absa Premiership clash on Friday night.
Kick-off is at 20:00.
