Manzini eyes Chippa goals

Cape Town - Chippa United striker Rhulani Manzini has set his sights on leading the attack for the Chilli-boys in the upcoming Premiership season.

Manzini has targeted a minimum of 10 league goals in the new season after contributing only four for Chippa last season.

The former Platinum Stars forward understands that it will be a challenge to replicate their eighth place finish last season, but knows he can play a big part in helping them achieve their aims.

"I scored four goals last season and this season I want to reach double figures, and with the help of my teammates and technical team this is possible," Manzini told KickOff.

"We are already aware that it is not going to be a tough season due to the way we finished last season. We need to double our efforts on the pitch and continue making our fans proud.

"We had lot of players coming in and it was important to know everyone at both social and on the playing field.

"It was also the first time for us to go to pre-season with coach Dan, who told us about what is expected from each and every one of us this coming season."

Chippa will open their season at home against Free State Stars at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on August 23.
