Manyama makes debut for new Turkish side

Cape Town - Recent Konyaspor signing, Lebogang Manyama, expressed delight at making his debut for his new team, though the Anatolian Eagle lost 2-0 to rivals Alanyaspor last Saturday.

The 26-year-old, who joined the outfit from Konya from Cape Town City, came on as a second half substitute but was unable to change the result after a strike from Vagner Love, as well as an own goal from Petar Filipovic.

Nonetheless, the Bafana Bafana star said he was happy to have had his first taste of Turkish football. He told SowetanLIVE, "It happened a little quicker than I thought it would‚ but it was good to be involved in the game and get a feel for Turkish football.

"I am taking it one game at a time‚ obviously my ambitions are to play as much as I can and to do that I must get used to Turkish football and my teammates as quickly as possible. I want to try and help the team to get better."

Currently, Konyaspor occupy 14th spot in the 18 team table having picked up just a single victory in four matches played so far in 2017/18.
