Cape Town - Kaizer
Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka has urged his team-mates to move on
from their consecutive losses and turn their attentions to SuperSport
United ahead of their PSL clash on Wednesday.
Chiefs were outclassed 2-1 by African champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versveld on Saturday after being eliminated from the Telkom Knockout via penalties against Free State Stars last week.
Amakhosi have been on a run of disappointing results, without a win in all competitions in their past five matches. The Soweto giants have dropped from the summit of the table down to fifth with 15 points from nine games.
"I think it's always disappointing to drop points or lose such games, but we have to look forward," Maluleka told KickOff.
"We have a very important game against SuperSport United, so we need to make sure that we rectify all the mistakes we made in the previous games. We have to try and push for the next game.
"Getting the ball in the back of the net – I think that was the difference. If you saw we also had a couple of draws, and those are games we could have won easily. I said last week that luck wasn't on our side in those games.
"But we're still looking to turn the corner, and we're also looking forward to the coming games because there are still a lot of positives that came from some of those matches. We're not done and dusted, there's a lot of work still to be done."
Kickoff is at 1930.
