Malesela wants to keep the momentum going

Cape Town - Chippa United coach Dan Malesela was delighted with his side's performance in their 4-1 league victory over Platinum Stars at Isaac Wolfson Stadium on Wednesday.

The Chilli Boys got off to a flying start in Port Elizabeth as Andile Mbenyane opened the scoring inside 10 minutes.

Lerato Manzini was the hero on the day, after scoring a hat-trick in the last 20 minutes of the match to finish off Dikwena and power the Port Elizabeth-based side to seventh place in the league standings with just four games left to play.

"I am satisfied with the performance and the result. There are of course areas of concern but overall credit to the lads for the win," he told his club's official website.

"We played against a difficult team in Platinum Stars. They play more like us and they troubled us in some moments."

Chippa face title challengers Bidvest Wits away at Bidvest Stadium on Saturday evening and Malesela hopes to repeat the same performance against Gavin Hunt's men.

"We have to build on this and for me I have already started thinking about the next game in Johannesburg against Bidvest Wits," he said.

"I had an opportunity to see their game against SuperSport United on Tuesday. They are competitive and their confidence will be up playing in front of their home crowd.

"What is important for us is to focus on our game. We have to continue doing what is right and keep the momentum. The game against Platinum Stars is over and now the focus on the next one," added Malesela.
