Malesela salutes PE fans after win

Cape Town - Chippa United coach Dan Malesela has dedicated their 2-0 win over Orlando Pirates to the supporters who filled up Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Chilli Boys were too hot for the Buccaneers on the night, as their entertaining brand of football earned them maximum points in front of their home crowd in Port Elizabeth.

"I think the people here deserved this," Malesela said. "It was a very good game of football. Pirates, like I said in the beginning, they would not sit back so this was money's worth.

"You know you need this in football. You don't want people to come, whatever they call it, park the bus and stuff like that. We need to play football so we can entertain these people, and you can see they are all happy."

Malesela also explained the changes he made in the middle of the park to make sure his team continued their dominance.

"We were struggling a bit because there were quite a few people loose on the Pirates side," he said.

"So I felt let Zuke come and solidify the middle, and I also thought Thami (Sangweni) was getting a little bit tired, so let's help him in terms of the workload."
