Mabokgwane out until 2016

Cape Town - Mpumalanga Black Aces goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane is set to sit out the remainder of 2015 as he recovers from a knee injury.

Mabokgwane will however miss only one game - the match against Ajax Cape Town at Mbombela Stadium on December 19, and should be back in time for the match away to Bidvest Wits on January 15, Aces' first fixture after the Christmas break.

The Bafana Bafana shot stopper, who broke into the national team this year, confirmed the news on his Instagram account.

He posted the following message: "That might be it 4 me this year. Out for 2 to 3 weeks but I'm glad I've finally sorted this knee that was troubling me.

"2015 you've been good to me, Thanks to everyone who've made a contribution towards all I achieved this year.

"Above all Thank you Lord for all your blessings upon me and my family's life. My best is yet to come!"

In the vastly experienced Shu-Aib Walters, AmaZayoni coach Muhsin Ertugral has an adequate replacement for Mabokgwane.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
