Lebese reveals why Pitso made the difference at Downs

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns winger George Lebese says he is not disappointed with his lack of game-time, and appreciates how he was managed by coach Pitso Mosimane in 2017/18.

Lebese made just five Premiership starts in the previous campaign although he was able to score two goals for the Brazilians.

With that said, he was dropped from the team for a period of time after being told to lose weight by Mosimane and his technical team.

The player, who arrived from Kaizer Chiefs with a big reputation at the beginning of the season, told Kickoff: "It was disappointing not to be playing as much at first, but the man-management with the coach was the difference.

"When you know what you have to work on and towards, it's easier to bear (not playing) than when you don't know why you're not playing.

"They sat me down and explained what I needed to do to be in the team, because it wasn't a technical issue, it was just being in a good condition to match up to the other guys.

"You know, with Sundowns playing every three days, I had to get conditioned for that so after about three weeks they gave me a progress report and said I'm up for selection again.

"I then made it onto the bench a couple of times, but the team was doing well, so..."
