Leal ponders Alexander replacement

Cape Town - As the Premiership campaign draws to a close, outgoing Polokwane City midfielder Cole Alexander has received praise from his manager, Julio Leal.

Alexander signed a pre-contract with SuperSport United in January and is set to join Stuart Baxter's side in July, but despite seeking greener pastures, the 26-year-old received praise from Rise and Shine coach Leal.

"It will be difficult to replace him. He is very professional, and a very good player. He is one of the best players I have ever worked with. He's a very good and fantastic player," the Brazilian told KickOff.

Leal claims City have a rising star breaking through that is exciting club management and has been touted as a natural replacement for Alexander.

"We have 'Vieira'," he said. "He is a talented youngster that plays in the midfield and has the same capacity as Cole - he can mark, pass and cover the defence.

"It will be difficult to replace him, but there is no player irreplaceable in the world."
