Cape Town - Clinton Larsen has hailed his squad's performance after Golden Arrows held Premiership title favorites Mamelodi Sundowns to a goalless draw on Saturday.
Arrows managed to pull off one of the shocks of the weekend in their stalemate with the league leaders, and Larsen paid credit to the whole squad who managed to keep the plethora of attacking talent in the Brazilians squad quiet.
"Firstly, I thought my players were fantastic today, we didn't want give them space in behind, which Dolly and Billiat in particular enjoy running into, we tried to neutralise them," the 45-year old said in the post-match interview.
"Secondly, we closed down the space on the sides. Hlompho loves to play those diagonal balls, we got both of our wingers closing down those channels perfectly tonight and we had so many opportunities tonight. Another we could have scored three or four."
The draw moved Abafana Bes'thende into the top-half of the Premiership standings, which makes the result at the Lucas Moripe stadium all the more satisfactory for Larsen.
"It's Sundowns we're talking about and a point away from home is a good one," he concluded.
