Larsen: No Khenyeza return date

Cape Town - Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen says he is unsure when Mabhuti Khenyeza will return to the team after the striker missed Tuesday night's defeat against Kaizer Chiefs.

Abafana Bes'thende fell to a 2-0 loss to the Amakhosi at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, and missed their experienced marksman in front of goal.

And Larsen confirmed that Khenyeza missed the game due to personal reasons and is not sure about his return date.

"There was a personal request from Mabhuti not to be part of the squad [against Chiefs] and it was something personal," he said after the game.

"So we allowed him some time off and yeah he has been missed... we know his qualities, experience.

"He is one of the few experienced players in the team and hopefully he will be back soon."

Arrows will host Bidvest Wits in the Premiership at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15:30.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
