Cape Town - Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen believes that Orlando Pirates are “one of the strongest teams in the Absa Premiership”.
Larsen, a former Pirates midfielder, will guide his Arrows side in a league clash on Tuesday night against the Sea Robbers at the Orlando Stadium.
Arrows are having a strong season themselves - they sit second on the table, just a point behind Baroka FC. Pirates are seventh, but only a point behind Abafana bes'Thende.
Larsen is expecting a very tough game as he feels that under head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic, the Buccaneers are on the rise.
"I've been very impressed with what I've seen of them‚ compared to last season when their build-ups were so laboured‚" Larsen told TimesLive.
"This time around there is a lot of energy in the team‚ a lot of inter-changing of positions‚ players look a lot more comfortable and seem to be enjoying what they are doing.
"In terms of the intent they've showed in their attacking game‚ they've really been a big threat going forward," he continued.
"I do think the points they have picked up is a true reflection of how strong this Pirates team is. For me, at the moment, [Pirates are] one of the strongest teams in the Absa Premiership."
The two sides have already met this season, with Pirates
recording a 1-0 win in the Telkom Knockout in Durban.
