Larsen calls for consistency

Cape Town - Golden Arrows manager Clinton Larsen is keen to maintain the club's impressive form as the Premiership resumes and defy the odds of working on a shoestring budget.

Larsen has led the unfancied side from Durban to sixth in the league, despite not registering a single win in their last six outings before the halfway mark.

Now, with the season back underway, the former Bloemfontein Celtic boss admits any team in the top half can go on to win the league title if they gain a level of consistency.

"Seeing that there is no budget, we would have to be smarter in our recruitment and find players who are almost out of contract to sign them as free agents to get ahead of the so-called big clubs," he told IOL

"We need to be injury free because we don't have the same depth as the top five teams.

"I wouldn't call us dark horses for the title. Anyone from position one to nine can consider themselves in with a chance to win the league.

"It's so open at the moment. We are hoping for consistency in the second half of the season and hoping to achieve that target."
