Cape Town - According to Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane, Tebogo Langerman can't understand why he was overlooked for the latest Bafana Bafana squad.
Last week, Shakes Mashaba named his 25-man squad to take on Cameroon later this month and the 29-year old full-back was a notable absentee given his form of late and his coach Pitso Mosimane confirmed his disappointment.
"Look, I must tell you he's disappointed. He said, 'Coach, I'm not saying I must play ahead of Matlaba, but at this point in time I think on stats I'm more effective than the other two ahead of me [Hlanti and Jampies]'. I said to Langerman, 'Just shut your mouth and play'," the former Bafana Bafana coach told The Sowetan.
Mosimane admits he understands what the former Bidvest Wits player means as he's been a highly consistent and experienced professional during his tenure as Sundowns head coach.
"At the moment, Langerman is effective, hey. He goes down the line, he crosses and most of our balls come from Langerman, let's be honest. Langerman is experienced; he's won cups and he won the league with us."
Since joining from Tshwane rivals Supersport United in 2012, Langerman has registered 9 assists in the 98 times he's featured for the Brazilians.
