Lakay boost for the Urban Warriors

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town have brought in SuperSport United forward Fagrie Lakay on loan for the rest of this season.

Having already signed Zimbabwean marksman Tendai Ndoro in the January transfer window, Ajax, second from bottom on the table, are now looking considerably stronger up front.

Lakay, who played for Cape side Santos before joining SuperSport, became the youngest ever player to represent Bafana Bafana when he featured against the Ivory Coast at 17 years, 5 months and 30 days.

His arrival was confirmed on the Urban Warriors' website.

"Ajax Cape Town are delighted to announce the signing of Fagrie Lakay. The 20-year-old has officially joined the Urban Warriors on loan from fellow Absa Premiership club SuperSport United for the remainder of the 2017-18 season."

The Cape club have also signed striker Muzi Thabotha from Highlands Park and Zimbabwean midfield anchorman Gerald Takwara.

Ajax meet Maritzburg United in a league encounter at Cape Town Stadium on Friday night.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
