Cape Town - Daniel Cardoso spoke of the ultra-defensive tactic which Kaizer Chiefs adopted against Mamelodi Sundowns - citing it as being misunderstood by many.
The Naturena-based outfit's seven game undefeated streak was brought to a grinding halt on Saturday at Loftus Versveld Stadium where goals by Tebogo Langerman and Sibusiso Vilakazi gave the reigning Premiership champions all three points.
"We’ve got to bounce back," he told the club's official website.
"We play with three at the back, while both wing-backs continuously go forward, assisting in attack.
"I am not sure why people feel that is defensive, because it isn’t," he added.
The 27-year-old admitted that the game against Stuart Baxter's side will be tough, especially with SuperSport enjoying a ten-game unbeaten streak in all competitions.
Cardoso, who has made five appearances for Amakhosi in all competitions this season, says that the encounter against Matsatsantsa provides the team with a chance at redeeming themselves.
"It won’t be an easy game against SuperSport," concluded Cardoso.
"However, as always, we will be looking for the three points. We owe this to our supporters, who are magnificent.”
The two sides face-off at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday, November 23 at 19:30.
