Komphela: We want to stamp our authority

Cape Town - The Kaizer Chiefs supporters made a call and the club responded with a buffet of three matches in the ‘Cape of Love & Peace’.

The first match at home away from home was the 2-1 win over Bidvest Wits in December.

Next up is Platinum Stars, which like the first game in the Cape, is also an Absa Premiership fixture.

The reigning league champions, Amakhosi, will face the ‘hard to crack’ Dikwena at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday afternoon, January 24.

“We are heading to Cape Town to continue where we left off against Wits in December,” states coach Steve Komphela.

“It feels good to play at the Cape Town Stadium at the back of a good memory. We want to stamp our authority at our home games.

“When we look at our opponents, they come from a loss and they will want to rebound. It promises to be a tough match.”

Chiefs will be buoyant by the encouraging win over Bloemfontein Celtic last Sunday. The mood in the Amakhosi camp is therefore high.

Kick-off is at 15:30.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
