Komphela to stay dignified despite fans disapproval

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says he will maintain his dignity despite some fans expressing their disapproval with the club's 2-1 defeat to Baroka on Saturday.

Despite enjoying a 1-0 lead in the Premiership clash at the Moses Mabhida Stadium from a George Maluleka strike, Amakhosi were eventually undone from goals by Lewis Macha and Gift Motupa.

As such, at the final whistle it appeared some sections of the supporters were not entirely pleased with the result. Nonetheless, Komphela retained his composure and said he understood the frustrations.

He told SuperSport, "It's about this job, you got to take it. When they voice their opinion, you have to be frank and say they are not happy with the result. Do you think they hate you? well something else, but you because they love their team and you deal with it.

"There's nothing you can do about what is said about you, the only thing you are in charge of is how you handle yourself. You still have to be dignified and stay focus, have respect and also have respect for them.

"You can't control anger from outside but you can control your emotions in terms of redirecting that anger and maybe showing some light."

Meanwhile South Africa U20 coach Shawn Bishop has leapt to the defence of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Wiseman Meyiwa after age-cheating accusations.
