Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela saw positive signs during the 30 minutes Gustavo Paez featured in during Tuesday night's 3-1 win over Free State Stars.
The Venezuelan replaced Edmore Chirambadare on the hour mark with his side already 2-0 up at the FNB Stadium.
He was not able to make much of an impact in his short cameo, yet Komphela saw what he felt were some positive aspects to the striker's play.
"Gustavo Paez as well, he's trying his best. You can see his movement, you can see the hunger and desire. He will come right," Komphela said after the game.
Club captain Siphiwe Tshabalala also previously spoke optimistically about what he thinks the 26-year-old will add to the Amakhosi squad.
"He has done well (at training). He is a good player. He will definitely add value to the team," said the winger.
"Our responsibility is to welcome him, make him feel comfortable and support him. But he is definitely going to add value to the team.
"He is a good player. More or less the same style as (former Chiefs and Venezeula-born striker Jose) Torrealba, but he has his own qualities that make him a good player."
